This year the Gort Show is proud to be presenting the Minihane's Supervalu Photographic Competition. This competition will be for Amateurs, Semi-professionals and professionals and will be run along side our hugely successful Amateur Photography Section with some superb prizes.
This year will see again, the expansion of the Show, in recognition of the very high numbers of Entries, that Gort is becoming famous for. Indeed, Gort has one of the biggest Children's and Photographic Sections of any Show, anywhere in Ireland. It is something we are very proud of and wish for this to continue. Due to the size of the Show now, we shall be having two marquees this year. One will house Art & Crafts Stands and the other will house the Flower section. This we hope will give extra impedes to the Flowers and also a dedicated area for the magnificent blooms we are accustom to seeing.
Again this year, entry forms for both the General Classes and the Horse & Pony Classes are available for download. New for this year, is the ability to download a copy of the entire schedule itself. These can be found on the Downloads Page. This year, due to the rising cost of the Show, we have had to increase the entrance fee from €2 to €3 and from €1 to €2 in the Children's Sections, But through extra Sponsorship, we are delighted to announce that we increased the prize money from €22 a Class to €30. This means that 1st = €15 2nd = €10 3rd = €5The Gort Show Entry Office, will be once again, located in the Gort Family Resource Centre. The Resource Centre is located in The Square, Gort, directly opposite St. Colman’s Church. We are delighted to have this facility and wish to thank them for allowing us to have our Show Entry Office there.
This year people will have an extended period in which to get their entry forms to the Entry Office or post them to the Secretary. The Entry Office will open on 7th July and close at 5:00 PM on Friday 1st August, giving an entry period of 4 weeks. The office will be open from 9:30PM to 16:30PM, closing between 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM for Lunch. Outside of these hours, you will also be able to use the post box in the Foyer of the Resource Centre. We will also be accepting postal entries, the address can be found on the Show Entries page. Of course, you would be helping us if you didn’t all decide to come in on the last day of the last week!! If you have any queries regarding any aspect of entering this year’s show, please feel free to contact our Secretary, whose details can be found on the Contacts page.
Once again, a big thank you to all the people who have helped with the development of the Gort Show website and you of course for giving us you comments on what to include and how to improve the site. Keep those suggestions coming!!!
